Women’s Basketball advances to Sweet 16
The Yellowjackets defeated Stevens Institute of Technology and Marymount University at home this past weekend to advance in the Division III tournament, setting up the rival match.

On day one of the field events, junior Kylee Bartlett finished second in the long jump, while sophomores Lonnie Garrett and Hannah Duttweiler finished sixth and eighth.

For Wittig, UAA Player of the Week is more than an individual award
Junior guard Jacob Wittig has been a key player this season for the Men’s Basketball team, averaging more than 30 minutes and 11 points per game. He was named UAA Men’s Basketball Player of the Week and earned First Team All-Academic District honors.

Day two saw the first school record shattered. Junior Becca Selznick broke the school record in the 500 freestyle by over a second and she finished 15th.

The Spartans outscored the ‘Jackets in the first five minutes of the fourth quarter, but they were already too far behind for it to make any difference. While the gap between the teams did not increase, the early success of the ‘Jackets was insurmountable.

Track and Field hits the ground running at NYU
It took home the top team score at an invitational Feb. 2 at RIT and managed to win another one in New York City this week. The ‘Jackets finished first out of 26 teams in the NYU Invitational.

Martinovich hired as new head football coach
After former head football coach Scott Greene made it known he would be stepping down from his position, it was announced, in late January, that former MIT head coach Chad Martinovich would be his replacement.
