These people are not stupid. They are not out to bilk students out of their money, to make them feel unsafe, or to operate in secrecy in order to sneak possibly objectionable measures under their noses.

The Editorial Board congratulates juniors Vito Martino and Lance Floto on becoming Students’ Association (SA) President and Vice President. Having endorsed them, we are pleased to see that the candidates we believed to be best for the position will now hold office.

SA presidential debate disappoints

None of the candidates distinguished themselves as frontrunners, and we left the debate with scant confidence in any of the tickets.

“We’re Better Than THAT” has yet to fully bare its fangs

The University appears to have risen to the challenge for improvement we issued in our March 3 editorial, which skewered the approach the University took—and the slogan it used—to combat racism on campus as muddled, passive, and ineffectual.

Bearers of bad news

Giving students the chance for exposure without being beholden to the more stringent journalistic standards of a campus newspaper provides a space where students can write pieces like the widely-circulated article on the recent queer space debate mentioned by the Editorial Board this week. That’s not to say that such an article couldn’t find a home at the Campus Times, but there is a certain value to having more than one forum for students to voice their opinions.

Can’t we do better than that?
