Dear editors of the Campus Times, I was surprised to read the latest issue of the Campus Times and find no coverage of the UR student who recently won the Truman Scholarship. This award is extremely prestigious and difficult to win; the last UR Truman Scholar graduated several years ago. I think that this story was (and still is) very worthwhile both for current students to see what opportunities are available and what their colleagues are achieving, and also for alumni to be aware of current students’ successes.

I hope that you will consider covering this story for the next issue, as well as acknowledging the three recently-named Goldwater Scholars.

Sincerely,

Emily Miyamoto Faber ’03

Top 10 best albums of 2024

It’s been an amazing year for music — some of my favorite albums of the decade came out, pop music thrived, as did rap, metal, and overall there were pretty much great albums coming out consistently every week.
