I wasn’t sure what to expect when I made the three-hour trek to Salem, VA from my home outside DC to support the men’s basketball team in the Final Four. When I was at UR back in the Paleozoic Era, real school spirit manifested itself rarely if at all.

For anyone who wasn’t there, the entire UR community should be proud of the students who made the trip to Salem. They were the loudest, most clever, and most supportive group of fans in the building. They were friendly, too – I stood with them for both games, and they made me feel right at home.

Nice work guys. Hope to see even more of you make the trip when the Jackets make it back to the Final Four next year.

The 25th annual performance of “The Nutcracker” at Eastman Theater retains its remarkable reputation

The RPO and Rochester City Ballet’s version of the Nutcracker adds creative touches to refresh the long-standing holiday classic.

Please stop messing with my pants

It started off with small things. One morning, the cuffs of my pants were slightly shorter, almost imperceptibly so.
