Jason Richardson of Rochester was arrested on charges of criminal trespass in the second degree on Jan. 28.

A building service staff member notified security after seeing the suspect in the basement of Wilder. Security officers initiated a search, and found the suspect exiting a fourth floor suite before 7 a.m. according to UR security.

Due to recent burglary and theft reports filed by students in Towers, Hill Court and Susan B. Anthony Residence Halls, UR Security is paying special attention to these areas.

The Rochester Police Department is currently working with UR to determine if Richardson was responsible for any other recent thefts, as he has been arrested at UR several times.

Underaged students caught intoxicatedFour underage students were reported intoxicated by UR Security. On Jan. 25, three students who live in Hoeing Hall, Sue B. and Wilder respectively, were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital at different times. All three were further evaluated and treated, according to security investigator Dan Lafferty.

The fourth student, a Lovejoy Hall resident, was evaluated by Rural Metro Personnel. It was determined that the student did not require any further medical attention.

Three of the students stated that they had consumed alcohol while on the Fraternity Quad. No specific house was identified in the incident. The fourth refused to say where he had consumed the alcohol, according to UR Security.

The cases have been referred to the Dean of Students’ Office.Viola missing from Wilder, found in Harkness

A viola was stolen from a suite lounge on the seventh floor of Wilder between Jan. 19 and Jan. 21 around 8 p.m.

The viola was later found by another student in a classroom and returned to its owner.

No damages were reported to the viola whose estimated worth was $3,000. It is unknown how the instrument was transported from Wilder to Harkness.
