John Walker, employee at the Wegmans in Pittsford, uses an electric chainsaw to carve away an ice sculpture of The Cat in the Hat. He and co-worker Jeff Lunney created the sculpture as part of the winter festivities at Roger J. Robach Community Center, located at Ontario Beach. Other ice sculptures, as well as a chili cookoff, a live band and the Lake Plunge, where people leaped into the below freezing waters of Lake Ontario, were all part of last Saturday’s events.



Whatever happened to the dormitories of yesteryear?
