The River Campus Jazz Ensemble will perform its annual spring semester concert tonight at 8 p.m. in lower Strong Auditorium.

The ensemble will be performing pieces by jazz legends Bob Brookmeyer and Gil Evans.

Matt Mealey, a graduate student at the Eastman School of Music, will be directing the ensemble.

The concert will also feature several original compositions by Eastman School graduate student Jamey Simmons, who will perform with the ensemble as well.

Also joining the ensemble will be special guests the UR Jazz Combo and the Stingers Trombone Choir, both student groups on the River Campus.

The concert is free and open to the public, so head on down to Strong Auditorium and spend the evening listening to some excellent jazz.
