On Thursday, Oct. 24, the @Rochester daily newsletter announced that Anne-Marie Algier was named Dean of Students and Associate Vice President for University Student Life.

Algier has worked with the University since 1991 and has held the position with interim status since 2023, according to her LinkedIn profile. A recent University news article stated that she plans to use the position to build a collaborative student life team and connect the University’s different schools.

“I am eager to continue the work of supporting our students and striving to meet and exceed the goals of the University’s strategic plan,” Algier said in the article. “Through those efforts, we can reimagine student life at Rochester and create an even more inclusive environment that allows students to thrive, be joyful, and build the competencies that will lead them to success after they graduate.”

The Warner School of Education publicly congratulated Algier for her new role on their Instagram page. Algier is a 2016 higher education doctoral alum.
