UR men’s basketball capped their season with an impressive performance in the NCAA D3 National Championship Tournament, ultimately losing to Marietta in the Sweet Sixteen with a score of 83–88. 

The YellowJackets ended their regular season with a 17–8 record, earning third place in the Region III rankings. They opened the tournament with an impressive 88–65 win over Eastern University; senior Brian Amabilino Perez led all scorers, with 29 points on 10–13 shooting. 

Matched up against Marietta in the second round, Rochester had trouble shooting from the field and line alike. Rochester carried a one-point halftime lead into overtime, tied at 74. Marietta outscored the YellowJackets 14–9 in the period, ending their season in dramatic fashion. Marietta went on to win two more games to advance to the Final Four before losing to the eventual champions, Randolph-Macon. 

Seniors Amabilino Perez and Ross Gang were named to All-Region teams, and the former earned a First-Team All District nod as well. Despite losing a strong senior class, the team will look to continue their momentum in the fall. 



The Clothesline Project gives a voice to the unheard

The Clothesline Project was started in 1990 when founder Carol Chichetto hung a clothesline with 31 shirts designed by survivors of domestic abuse, rape, and childhood sexual assault.

UR Softball continues dominance with sweeps of Alfred University and Ithaca College

The Yellowjackets swept Alfred University on the road Thursday, winning both games by a score of 5–4.

UR Baseball beats Hamilton and RIT

Yellowjackets baseball beat Hamilton College on Tuesday and RIT on Friday to the scores of 11–4 and 7–4, respectively.
