A UR graduate student was arrested Monday on several sexual-abuse charges, according to New York State Police.

Rahul Saha, 26, faces two counts of first-degree sexual abuse, two counts of third-degree sexual abuse, one count of third-degree assault, and one count of second-degree aggravated harrassment, police said in a press release.

The charges of first-degree sexual abuse are felony offenses.

The offenses took place beginning around October 2018, police said.

Police offered no details in the press release about the survivor, or survivors, or how Saha was investigated.

Saha was arraigned in Brighton Town Court and held on $30,000 bond bail, police said.

The Brighton Police Department, Monroe County Sheriff’s Department, and UR’s Department of Public Safety helped state investigators, according to the press release.
