Ever want to spend an evening watching Broadway but couldn’t make it to New York? Well this Friday, you can see 17 shows for only $3, and you don’t even have to leave campus.

Off Broadway On Campus, the only student group on campus that performs Broadway-style shows, presents their Fall Revue, entitled “OBOC and the Amazing Technicolor Dream-show.”

The show will be a collection of Broadway Musical favorites all selected, directed and choreographed by student members. It will include musical selections from “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,” “The Full Monty,” “The Lion King,” “Ragtime,” “Aida” and many more.

“We’re all really excited about the show we’re preparing.” sophomore and OBOC Publicity Director Kary Haddad said. “For one thing, the group is now bigger than ever. A lot of freshmen joined us, all with great talent and creativity. They’re really adding a lot to what was already an amazing group of performers.”

Audience members will be treated to a great variety of music that they might not have heard before this semester because OBOC is including numbers from several shows its never done before. These include major recent Broadway hits as well as smaller Off-Broadway shows.

Other shows making appearances include “Little Shop of Horrors,” “Les Misrables” and “Godspell.” With 17 different shows represented, there’s sure to be something for everyone.

“OBOC is always trying to bring great musical theater to the River Campus, and this show will be no exception,” Haddad said. “If last semester’s standing-room only crowd was any indication, the Fall 2001 Revue will be a great time for everyone.”

The show will be at 8 p.m. in Lower Strong Auditorium. Tickets are $3 for students, faculty and staff. They are $4 for everyone else. You can get your ticket at the Common Market or at the door. OBOC’s Spring 2001 Revue sold out, so you might want to buy your tickets early.

A timely love letter to February

Although you happen to be the shortest month of the year, it feels like forever since you first arrived. Before we return to the monotony of 30 or 31-day months again, I just wanted to write this just to thank you for your visit and reminisce about some wonderful memories.

Resilience & community through fibre arts: a tatreez workshop

Tatreez requires patience and an attention to detail: the small fibers used to cross stitch are easily tangled in the back, and pulling them to the correct tension can be tedious work.
