Twenty-year-old Rochester residents William Ayala and Franklin Davis were arrested on trespassing charges after being seen in Burton Hall on Nov. 8 after 1 a.m.

A group of students noticed four suspicious individuals and contacted UR Security.

Upon the arrival of Security officers, the group of suspicious individuals fled, but Security was able to apprehend two of the four people, according to UR Security Investigator Dan Lafferty.

The Rochester Police Department responded to the scene.

One of the suspects told officers that he was trying to sell drugs to a student in Burton, and provided a random room number to the officers, according to UR Security.

Officers then checked with the residents of the room, and learned that the suspect lied about the room number, according to Lafferty.

The two suspects were arrested and issued forms advising them not to return to university property.

The other two suspects were not identified, according to Security.

UR Security recommends that students in residence halls make sure that the exterior doors of their buildings are secured to ensure that unknown people are not allowed to freely access any buildings.

Anyone that sees anyone acting in a suspicious manner near residence halls is encouraged to contact UR Security.
